SANDHAN is a non-profit, non-governmental and secular organization founded in 1983. Its activities are rooted in a basic framework which values diversity, respects people’s knowledge and places confidence in their capacity to learn and contribute to the growing body of knowledge.

Over the years Sandhan’s major role has been to weave quality in state initiated and community based educational programs, developed for marginalized sections of society.
SANDHAN’s role is at diverse levels:

• At the ground level, it endeavours to respond to specific and diverse educational needs arising from community based initiatives across the country.
• As a research and training organization, it feeds authentic research in state planning processes.
• At the operational level, it engages in orientation and capacity building of functionaries to ensure appropriate outcomes.
• Networks with community based initiatives across the country  

Currently, as a Resource Agency in Rajasthan, SANDHAN’s activities are –
 

• Assistance to SSA through innovation for ensuring Quality Education; Residential Educational Courses: Kasturba Gandhi Balika  Vidyalayas  at Ajmer and Banswada Districts.
• Life skills training program for  Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan; 135 Sharde Hostels in 33 districts of Rajasthan
• Support to Doosra Dashak, Rajasthan
• Support to other ongoing Community Based Initiatives across the country.
• Research, Advocacy and Process Reviews: GoR, GoI and International agencies.
