The fundamental purpose of assessment and evaluation is to provide information that can be used to guide teaching. For this purpose assessment must provide information in two key areas- “what is it that the student knows, can show and do.” And second-“how does the teacher plan his/her teaching in order to improve and meet the diverse needs of students.”
Assessment is a cyclic process. The result of assessment informs the next assessment process and provides a base for comparison of two situations.

SANDHAN has developed a competence tool to assess students in foundational skills to facilitate their learning at an escalated pace.

SANDHAN also conducts evaluation exercises for other community based organizations who have been working for the education of marginalized sections of society.
